consumer electronicsConsumer electronics are changing all of the time. I can still remember when the VHS video recorder was considered the next big thing and not everybody had a CD player. Now consumer electronics include high definition DVD players, MP4 players with endless storage capacity, LCD flat screen TVs as big as a cinema screen, seventh generation gaming consoles and cellular phones that are really computers that can fit into the palm of your hand. If you could take a person from thirty years in the past and transplant them directly into the future just to show them modern consumer electronics they would think that they were looking at something from a science fiction movie.
What I wonder is what the consumer electronics of tomorrow are going to look like. The technology that exists today is already incredible, so what is next? I would love to be able to see what will be available to us thirty years into the future when my step-grandkids have children of their own. Unfortunately we are not yet so technologically advanced that time machines exist so I guess I will have to wait a while to find out what consumer electronics we will all be using by then.
